The first Christmas

It was never about the perfect tree

Christmas can be beautiful and busy at the same time. Between the shopping lists, the school concerts and the long to-do list, it is easy to forget who the day is really about.

The first Christmas was not tidy or perfect. A tired young couple. A crowded town with no room. Ordinary shepherds working the night shift. And into that very ordinary night came the best news ever told.

"Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord."Luke 2:10-11 (KJV)

Why now

More than ever

Many of us are tired. Tired of noise, of comparison, of carrying more than we were meant to carry. The Christmas story meets people exactly there. God did not wait for the world to get its act together. He came near.

That good news has not changed, and it is worth talking about at our tables, in our homes, and yes, in our businesses. Restored Harmony began with a simple idea: a calmer home leaves room for what matters most. For us, what matters most is Jesus.

If you are carrying something heavy this season, you are never alone. God is with you, and we are here for you.

The gift behind the gift

What did Jesus come to do?

The Christmas story points to one question. Here is the answer, simply.

1

God loves you

God made you, and he loves you. Christmas is the proof.

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."John 3:16 (KJV)
2

We all need a Savior

Every one of us falls short of God's goodness. Our sin separates us from him, and we cannot fix that by being good enough.

"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;"Romans 3:23 (KJV)
3

Jesus paid the price

The baby in the manger grew up and died on a cross for our sins, then rose again. He took our place.

"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."Romans 5:8 (KJV)
4

You can receive him

Salvation is a gift. You receive it by faith, not by earning it.

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."Ephesians 2:8-9 (KJV)

A simple prayer, if this is what your heart wants to say

Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner and that I need you. I believe that you died for my sins and rose again. I turn from my sin, and I ask you to forgive me and to be my Lord and Savior. Thank you for your gift of eternal life. Amen.

The words are not magic. What matters is that you mean them and trust Jesus. If you prayed this, welcome to the family of God. You are never alone. God is with you, and we are cheering you on.
